The Hussars' room, reflects the Kalnoky family's long tradition of equestrian culture and military riding. Each room has an electric kettle, with tea provided. To create an atmosphere of peace and quiet, the rooms have no TV or radio instead, you will find plenty of interesting books on the shelves. All rooms have double/twin beds with woollen beds and duvets. The rooms are furnished exclusively with antique Transylvanian furniture, including most textiles. Children are welcome, and the guest houses are suitable for all ages. A sauna and billiard room are also available in the lower houses. The bathrooms are well equipped and tastefully decorated. ![]() The original heating system of wood stoves has been replaced by central heating. The houses are beautifully furnished with antiques in Szekler and Transylvanian Saxon style. The guest houses are set in spacious gardens, some with storks nesting on nearby rooftops. ![]() The buildings have been carefully restored to preserve their original Transylvanian charm and character. ![]() Most houses date from the 1800s, although some are much older, as the presence of medieval battlements indicates. You'll stay in Count Kalnoky's castle at Miklósvar or in the private residence of King Charles III.Ī weekend spent here feels like being part of a Tolstoy novel after visiting friends in the country. This could be heaven for lovers of nature, traditions and horses. Enjoy the historic landscape of Transylvania, with endless hills, adorned with wildflower meadows, forests and small villages against the backdrop of the Carpathian mountain range.
